Arts & Humanities subjects at La Trobe University have been given a big endorsement by The Times Higher Education Rankings.
The first of The Times’s subject rankings since its overall rating of La Trobe has placed the University’s Arts & Humanities in the top 200 in the world – or the top one per cent globally.
A delighted Pro Vice-Chancellor for Arts, Social Sciences and Commerce, Professor Anthony McGrew, said: “This is an excellent result for La Trobe and great recognition of the global reputation of our School.
“Arts & Humanities subjects open up so many opportunities for our graduates across a range of established and new occupations, from event management and video production to criminology and social research, policy advice and foreign affairs to corporate communications and town planning.
“That’s why this recognition for La Trobe from The Times in the Arts & Humanities is so important.”
The Times is one of the three major rankings agencies in the world along with QS and the ARWU. La Trobe’s ranking in Arts & Humanities places it in the top three in Victoria along with the University of Melbourne and Monash University.
