New classrooms for modern learning in Mordialloc

Mordialloc students will benefit from new classrooms and refurbished facilities, thanks to the Victorian Government.

Victorian Minister for Education James Merlino and Member for Mordialloc Tim Richardson released details of the $2.75 million redevelopment of St Brigid’s Parish Primary School.

The Victorian Government is contributing $1.75 million towards the project.

The funding will go towards building a new administration area and four new classrooms as well as refurbishing existing classrooms. Work including demolition is expected to begin in early 2018 and be completed one year later.

The funding boost forms part of the Victorian Government’s $120 million investment to build and upgrade Catholic and independent schools across the state.

The Government is working closely with the Catholic Education Commission of Victoria and Independent Schools Victoria to ensure funding is targeted to the areas of highest need so schools can build the classrooms and learning environments they need to support a 21st century education.

The project is part of a $2.5 billion Government investment over three years to build the Education State, giving every student access to a great local school with a great education.

Victoria’s school building boom has delivered more than 1,000 school upgrades and 56 new school projects across the state, supporting almost 5,000 construction jobs for Victorians.
