Some of Victorian’s best schools, principals and teachers have been recognised at the 2017 Victorian Education Excellence Awards.
Victorian Minister for Education James Merlino congratulated all award winners at a ceremony in Melbourne.
A principal using education to lift student outcomes, a primary teacher passionate about increasing the number of women taking on science, maths, technology and engineering subjects and careers, and a special school modelling inclusive education are among the winners of 2017’s awards.
The Victorian Education Excellence Awards recognise inspirational teachers, principals and support staff who get the best out of their students at the states’ government schools.
The nine award categories cover inclusive education, school advancement, education support, Koorie education, outstanding business manager, outstanding primary and secondary school teacher and principal.
The winners were chosen from a pool of 28 finalists.
As the Government makes Victoria the Education State, we want Victorians to be proud of the great government schools in their communities and the people who work in them.
Whether by inspiring young minds, contributing to educational outcomes or delivering new learning experiences – the winners are all positively shaping young lives.
