Students in Glen Waverley will soon have access to the first-rate school facilities they deserve thanks to the Victorian Government.
Victorian Minister for Education James Merlino visited Brentwood Secondary College alongside Member for Mount Waverley Matt Fregon to announce the school would receive $4.6 million in the 2019-20 State Budget to build a new VCE centre.
The new VCE centre will replace the current VCE building, which will be demolished. The current building was partially damaged earlier in 2019 as a result of a fire which also damaged a nearby relocatable building at the school.
This relocatable building will also be replaced with a new relocatable building during the July school holidays to minimise disruption to teachers and students.
The $4.6 million for Brentwood Secondary College is part of a record $1.82 billion investment into Victoria’s education infrastructure in 2019’s State Budget – delivering on the Victorian Government’s promise to make Victoria the Education State.
This record investment will also see a total of 100 new schools open over the next eight years under the Victorian Government’s school building boom, ensuring every child has access to a great education, and every community has access to a great local school with exceptional teachers.
